For Peruvians maca is and has been a true superfood for centuries. The herbal plant is eaten as a vegetable, the root is used as supplement and medicine. The Inca’s used dried maca root as a royal delicacy and even as a currency to pay their colonial Spanish taxes. Read more.

Peru’s Ministry of Agriculture (MinAgri) projected that this year a 8% growth is expected. The majority of growth comes from Asian (53%) and European (12%) markets. Read more.

Peru heads the region in terms of export growth. With a whopping 21.7% between September 2016 and August this year surpassing the growth rates achieved by its neighbors in the region according to the central reserve bank of Peru (BCR). Read more.
